- What is Marked Ages?
Marked Ages is an action MMORPG set in a living voxel world. Combat is played with your feet: attacks draw their shape on the ground before they land, and you decide where to stand. The land can be dug, raised and broken, the changes are shared with everyone on your server, and the land heals itself back, except the purple blight, which only players can undo.
- What platforms is Marked Ages on?
Mac and PC, with full controller support. iPhone and iPad are planned after that.
- When is the alpha?
The closed alpha is planned for early 2027. It is by invitation and free. Characters made during test stages are reset; from launch on, everything is kept. There is no public release date yet: it comes when the game is polished.
- How much does Marked Ages cost?
You play free up to level 20 with no time limit. A subscription of about $10 a month opens everything after that. A cosmetic shop sells looks only.
- Is Marked Ages pay to win?
No. Nothing for sale makes a character stronger or saves play time: no gear, power, experience or speed boosts, and no bag or bank space. Money buys access and looks.
- How do I join the alpha?
Join the waitlist on the home page with your email. You get an email when it is your turn. Players must be 13 or older.
- What is combat like?
Cones, lines and circles glow on the ground a beat before a hit, so nothing is decided by a hidden dice roll. You dodge with a quick roll, interrupt enemy armor together with your group, and break the last pip of armor to stagger a boss open. Every class can stand on its own, and tanks and healers make the hard fights smoother.
- Can I play alone?
Yes. Every session moves you forward, solo or not, and delves and quest chains never wait on a full party. Public events and fellowships of four or five are there when you want company.
- What classes and peoples are there?
Eight classes: Wardbound, Mender, Delver, Patterncaster, Ranger, Lightbearer, Stalker and Blightbinder. Four peoples: Settlers, Smallfolk, Rootfolk and Deepkin. There are no factions; every people stands against the same dark. The level cap at launch is 50.
- What is the blight?
The blight is a purple corruption that rises from old wells, mines and sinkholes and creeps across the land. The land cannot heal it, because it is no part of the land's own grain. Players hold the line at farms and reclaim what it takes.
